Kentucky Campaign Sign Laws: Polling Places and Right-of-Way
What Kentucky state law says about campaign yard signs: On election day and in-person absentee voting days, no electioneering (which includes "the displaying of signs") at the polling place or within 100 feet of an unlocked voter entrance, or within 100 feet of a ballot drop box. Signs and other "encroachment" on the right-of-way of a state-maintained road need an encroachment permit from the Department of Highways. Every rule links to the official text, checked between October 26 and November 2, 2026.

Polling places
On election day and in-person absentee voting days, no electioneering (which includes "the displaying of signs") at the polling place or within 100 feet of an unlocked voter entrance, or within 100 feet of a ballot drop box. Owners or lessees may display signs on their own private property in the zone, unless it is leased as the polling place.

Right-of-way and private property (state roads)
Signs and other "encroachment" on the right-of-way of a state-maintained road need an encroachment permit from the Department of Highways. Without one, the department can order removal within seven days and fine $500 for a first violation, rising to $2,000.

FlyerFly is an app for putting out yard signs and door hangers with your own crew. When your team puts out a sign, the app saves a GPS pin, a photo and the time, so you can see where every sign you placed is. While a job runs, your crew member's dot moves on your map with a Live badge, and a GPS trail shows where they went. It does not check whether a spot is legal, so use the rules above. It's nonpartisan and works the same for any campaign.
